45+ can be vaccinated at Toronto mega-clinics

Hot-spot residents 45 and older can now book their vaccination at one of Toronto’s mass immunization sites, which should take some of the pressure off local pharmacies.

In other vaccination news, starting tomorrow, the Downsview clinic will be offering a pop-up clinic to all adults who live or work in Weston or Mount Dennis.

The clinic opens at 9, is drop-in only, and goes only until supply runs out. Bring proof of your address and comfortable shoes.

And, finally, West Park is trying something new: a short window for in-person pre-registration.

April 27 – West Park will be doing drop-in PRE-REGISTRATION at COMMUNITY PLACE HUB (1765 Weston Rd) on THURSDAY APRIL 29. 18+ Residents of M6M, M6N and M9N can pre-register, in person on Thursday, April 29 between 12 noon and 2pm for appointments on Friday, April 30 (Pfizer vaccine). Proof of address is required. We will have 300 appointments available for booking.

West Park’s attempt at online registration did not go well last week.

  1. Hopefully, the West Park pre-registration at the Hub “sells out” for all the right reasons.

It’s a generous & helpful offer to move things along nicely, from this perspective. An approach incidentally that was possible at the HRRH arena site, too the day we got ours – now almost 4 weeks ago, which has me a little concerned as we await our second dose.

Nevertheless, we took advantage of the “opportunity” to sign up a vaccine hesitant 90 yr old parent, days later. (Never thought we’d convince her in this crazy polarized world.)

    Anyway, go for it.
    And, good luck!

  2. I am going next week at Dixon Rd City clinic. I give credit to City Of Toronto, I went there with my mom and it’s very well run, with social distenicing enforced, they have people clean pens, clipboards, paramedics were there, well ventilated. Smooth operation. My brother went to downsview clinic didn’t like it at all, very crowded, little social distancing. Iam glad I waited and didn’t go there!
