Adam’s bio

I looked for a place like Weston for years. I was thrilled to find it, and I wanted to give something back. I can type, and I know a bit about the net, so I started this blog back in 2010.

I have two wonderful kids, one cranky dog, a cat that doesn’t like me, and a wife that sometimes does. By day, I work at Seneca College, where I teach English. I’m the luckiest man you’ll ever meet.

    Dear Adam:

As a valued promoter of all things Weston since 2010, you are cordially invite to attend our Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Weston King Community Centre (WKNC) on Tuesday June 7. At this meeting, on behalf of the Board, our outgoing Chair will present his final report and our Strategic Plan for the coming year, along with the corresponding budget.

This will be an exciting time. Following a full course meal, served from 5:30 to 6:30, there will be an opportunity for us to introduce you to our members, our special guests, service delivery partners and funders until about 7:00. Who knows, you may even be encouraged to take out a new membership!

After staff and volunteers have cleared the dining hall and prepared for the business portion of this important meeting, our Host will introduce all the invited guests, followed by an 15 to 20 minute address from our keynote speaker who will share some important news with us about the fairly new Weston Mount Dennis Community Place HUB. Then, our President-designate will introduce herself and share a few of her plans for the new year.

Finally, the business of electing a new slate of members to the Board Directors shall be considered.

This is one of the most important WKNC meetings in the annual cycle and we’d love to have you drop by, take a few photos, interview some folks and get to know us. Who knows, maybe even consider including us in your blog.

    Wendy Whiteley, Director of Membership
    On behalf of the Board
