Albanese pushes for organ transplant plan

Laura Albanese, our MPP, is pushing a resolution to create an Amber Alert system for organs. Children in need and donors would be matched more quickly than they are now.

According to the Star, Albanese will be cooperating with two colleagues to create a tri-partisan resolution to push the Minister of Health, Deb Matthews, to investigate the system. Right now, however, details are “sketchy”.

Albanese was also just given a promotion; she is now parliamentary assistant to the Ministry of Labour.

  1. Not sure what to make of the headline of this story. Local MPPs are trying to get an alert system for organ transplant. As a person who lost a dear friend member of the family while she was for an organ transplant, I think your headline is both insensitive and a clumsy attempt to slight our MPP.

    1. Sorry you didn’t like it. As I’ve said many times, I quite like Ms Albanese. Frankly, I was trying to make a quite dry subject sparkle a bit more. She’s pushing a non-binding motion that will ask her party nicely to do something that isn’t quite planned out yet. So, hey, slow news day. I’ve changed it, though.
