And we’re off!

Paul Ferreira got in touch with your humble correspondent earlier today. He will be running; the official nomination will happen this Friday, at his new campaign office, which will be in Weston, at 2105 Weston Road. The NDP website, however, does not yet list him as a candidate.

The NDP (and the Tories) are off to a slow start all around the province, according to the Star.

YHC sent messages to the Tory candidate, Andrew Ffrench, today. I have not heard back.

  1. Not going pay attention cause I already made up my mind, waiting for the first day of advance polls. Meanwhile I got call block on my phone for those annoying robocalls.

  2. This is a tough one. The distinction between the Liberals and NDP provincially right now is very little. I would favour the Liberals if it helps defeating Hudak. And hopefully he will be gone for good…Time to get a real job for the first time in your life Timmy.

  3. The NDP wouldn’t support at dream NDP budget that included electrification, so why would I vote for them? TAndrea’s poor judgment and unwillingness to work with other parties when it really matters will cost her seats and has certainly damaged her reputation. As for their candidate, from local talk, I’m sure he wasn’t their first choice.

  4. Can’t wait to hear how the NDP spin this one when they come around. I’m actually someone without a public or private pension and come retirement, CPP payouts are totally insufficient. Good on Wynne for proposing this. I hope the Liberals get elected on this issue alone and I hope its the ballot box question come election day.

  5. Bunch of fools….Weston has gone to crap, yet the good folks of Weston will continue to vote for crap….terrible. The Liberals have stolen our money, yet you want to reward them…….again, terrible. At least pick between the ndp or cons…not the Liberals.

  6. Mad- while I don’t condone the conduct of McGuinty and his crooked crew in trying to buy the last election with the gas plant faisco, I certainly won’t be voting to based on this. At the end of the day, policy is what matters and I actually believe that Wynne has gotten back to fundamentals of good policy development. Your belief that we should vote for Hudak, shows your level of intelligence when it comes to the issues. Maybe its you who is the fool.

  7. I wont be voting for either the Liberals or Cons, but NDP. they are the only party that has actually provided ideas to move forward. All liberal ideas were stolen from the NDP. The Cons will do nothing but cut cut cut and give to big corporations.
Sorry but I have to agree, how can you still vote in the Liberals after all the bad they have done. Time for Change.

  8. so you would have two local reps in opposition that can’t actually bring anything forward for the community? An NDP vote this year is a waste of a vote. Might as well vote for Hudak.

  9. Oh Eric, you and your silly Liberal ways…..we were all young and silly once like you….we probably all voted Liberal at least once in our life….but a vote for a liberal is a vote for corruption with your tax dollars…. and by the way, liberals have been in power in York South Weston for a long time, and nothing good as come of it….take a drive along Weston Rd and Jane St, sure looks pretty doesn’t it?

  10. i hate the mcguinty liberals for what theyve done to ontario… swore i would never again vote liberal and will never vote conservative (minimum wage issue, union bashing, list goes on) but ndp will simply not have the power… its the lesser of 3 evils and someone has to be in power

  12. And what has our NDP MP done to improve that situation? Or have you forgotten that he has to do more than talk talk talk and trot his secretary Paul to the doors and meetings to con you into votes on the taxpayers dime, while attacking other levels of government in his newsletters?
