Big weekend

This weekend will be a big one in Weston.

The Farmers’ Market will be closing; next year it will re-open in a new location. There will be face-painting, balloons and a bouncy castle.

To celebrate the year end, there will also be a pet and owner parade with awards for the best Halloween costumes. The parade starts at 11, and all are welcome to enter.

At 12, there will be a dedication ceremony for Pantelis Kalamaris Lane and Pantelis Kalamaris Gardens. The streets are being named in honour of Peter the Barber, longtime Weston businessperson.

  1. Thanks for the post Adam,
This weekend in conjunction with the closing of the market for another season, Peter’s Barber Shop will be celebrating our 51st anniversary!
We will be serving cake, hosting a fundraising BBQ and playing LOUD GREEK MUSIC in honour of my father. Eddie Shack, former Toronto Maple Leaf and 4 time Stanley Cup champion will celebrate with us signing autographs for the public.
Also, the 700 David Hornell VC Squadron Royal Canadian Air Cadets band will be playing O Canada to kick off the day’s events, and the Maple Leaf Forever just before the unveiling of the street signs in honour of my father.
Oh yeah, and the most awesome Robert Pooran -the Etobicoke Elvis will be performing during the day!
