Bittersweet day at St John

There were lots of smiles at St John the Evangelist this Saturday, but it must have been a bittersweet day. The school had an open house to say good-bye to the 50-year-old building, which will soon be knocked down to make way for a school more than twice the capacity.

Dave Bennett, the Chair of the School Advisory Council, said on Facebook that they had a “GREAT turn out for our Open House on Saturday! We gave out 300 pulled pork sandwiches, 400 hot dogs, 220 ice cream cones, 350 bottles of water all for free (thanks to donations.”
