Business news

There’s some bad news in business. Weston BBQ has closed its doors. Like everyone, I suppose, I kept meaning to go.

The Green Pea health food store is closing too; the owner hopes to expand the Niyama Tree yoga studio into that space. Your humble correspondent has enjoyed several very good yoga classes in the smaller studio; a larger place would be wonderful.

Unfortunately, right now, there aren’t enough members to support the business, according to a reader. She says “new members are needed to make this expansion possible, so if you’ve ever thought about trying or returning to yoga, now is your chance to do it in the neighbourhood.”

The first month of unlimited classes is $40, and the classes are very reasonably priced. Despite the signage, it’s not usually hot yoga, thank god.

  1. I was just wondering if you knew the schedule for the yoga place? Do they have a website? I would love to attend some classes as it is so close to home! TIA

    1. The website is and there is a Niyama Tree yoga link with a current schedule.
