12 Division police arrested two people and are looking for a third after a car was stopped near Weston and Oak. The police say they discovered two handguns and ammunition in the vehicle. One person was arrested at the scene, one fled and was apprehended, and a third evaded arrest.
The police say that on August 6, they stopped a car that ran a red light. One of the occupants was “wearing a balaclava on top of his head” and a marijuana grinder was visible. A firearm handle was, an officer says, visible under the passenger seat.
When the police asked the occupants to step out of the car, Constable Bryan Irwin “observed a firearm inside the vehicle and alerted his partner, Const. Imran Mandozai.”
Two Glock handguns were seized. Ramone Thomas, 22 and Osman Aim, 18, face many charges for unlawful possession and storage of firearms. Biniam Habtamu, 24, is being sought by police.
