Crime this week

It was a lousy week for crime.

School is back in session, so the booger picking thugs are on the prowl. A 17-year-old young man was mugged at Wadsworth and Springmount at 3 in afternoon. Four men approached him wearing disguises and mugged him. They stole his wallet and fled. He was not badly injured.

Cash4U, at 1542 Jane, was robbed the next day. A man wearing a disguise and armed with a handgun entered the store at about 10:30 in the evening. He demanded cash, duct-taped the victim’s hands, and stole his wallet. The victim was uninjured.

  1. How about some police officers on patrol in the neighbourhood, protecting school children? Why isn’t this an issue that we hear the Councillor addressing, beyond the virtual cameras at Jane and Lawrence?

Anyone who got the harassing phone call from Rob Ford with the Ford family’s invitation to his big free-for-all eating spree on Friday night could perhaps mention between bites that having safe neighbourhoods is more important to us than free hamburgers.
