Other artists include Church Chizzle, Obidiah, Erik Flowchild, and spoken word performers Yusra, Enuma and Rolling Stone will also be taking the stage.
The CultureShock Festival will feature an array of local musical talent, an art exhibit, youth art activities, vendor booths, and of course great food. The festival aims to profile the artistic community and to reflect UrbanArts’ ongoing commitment of engaging youth and community development through the arts.
Elizabeth La Regina passed away on July 12, 2012. Elizabeth was a strong supporter of Weston Memorial Public School and took pride over the upkeep of the gardens surrounding the school. Yearly, Elizabeth would coordinate and thenvolunteer her time to plant bulbs and annuals with each child at WMJPS. Recently, the gardens have not received any TLC.
We would therefore like to invite family, friends, and the Weston Community to a Garden Memorial for Elizabeth. We plan to start with a group effort to tidy up the gardens atWMJPS by weeding, planting and mulching. To finish the evening, we will then have an unveiling of a Memorial Plaque to honor Elizabeth.
Gardeners and non gardeners are welcome! Bring a garden trowel or shovel.
Any donation you would like to give to offset the cost of the evening would be greatly appreciated.
On August 16, 2012, Frances Nunziata will be holding a community meeting to discuss proposed Church Street streetscape improvements as well as proposed changes to the intersection at Church Street and John Street. The meeting will begin at 7pm and will be held at COSTI, which is located at 35 King Street.
