Food bank gets a post-Christmas boost

Food banks, unlike most of us, don’t want to slim down after Christmas. But they do: donations spike at Christmas and drop off in January. It was very decent of the Insurance Bureau of Canada to give the Weston food bank a big cheque. InsideToronto has the story.

With food donations normally down in the first two months following the Christmas holidays, a $5,000 donation to a couple of local food banks this week came as a welcome surprise to start off the new year.
