Former YSW MP may reenter politics

Former York South–Weston MP John Nunziata (Frances Nunziata’s brother) has been asked, he says, if he would be interested in taking the City Council seat that Doug Holyday left vacant when he moved up to the big leagues.

Nunziata was our MP between 1984 and 2000. He was a Liberal and Independent. He now works as a lobbyist. He had a rough couple of years; he kicked his ex-wife’s new boyfriend in the butt and was charged with assault. After initially denying it, he admitted to the assault on the stand. He was found guilty, and the Law Society sanctioned him for lying under oath.

According to the National Post, Sarah Thompson (my former employer, [I’m no fan]) and a few people I’ve never heard of are also in the running.

  1. The only comment that comes to mind is “the scum rises to the surface.” Or at least that’s the only comment that’s fit to share.

Good grief. Do these horrors never go away? Bullies, rally round!
