Humber River hospital to be sold

The Humber River Hospital on Church Street will be put up for sale in the next few weeks, according to Frances Nunziata’s email circular. The Church Street site is one of several hospital sites that will be consolidated at a new site near Keele and Wilson.

Laura Albanese will be hosting a meeting with representatives for the hospital on Thursday, April 24 from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm at 2175 Keele Street.

The final moving day is in October 2015.

  1. I understand the hospital needs to close, the place has been crowded for years. It will be hard to get used to not having hospital near walking distance. I was born there too. I hope the development will be affordable housing that blends well with the rest of the neighbourhood. I hope the international school next door doesn’t have ideas to buy it for student housing either.

  2. Id rather see more detached/semi’s go in here than anything else. Definitely no student housing or rentals. Maybe long-term seniors care facility as well would be a good idea as well

  3. No let’s add more rental units…this site is perfect…with 300 rental units planned for John street, what’s wrong with adding another 1000…. So can’t wait to sell my house….goodbye weston hello rob ford land!

  4. I would suggest its not NIMBY’ism, but rather the desire that there be balance in the neighborhood.

  5. Pelmo Park doesn’t need more single level homes..A low rise building with affordable housing is good with first level area for small business or health office is something badly needed in Pelmo Park.
