Jane Street to get bus-only lanes; TTC seeking input on stops

The TTC is planning to build bus-only lanes on Jane Street between Eglinton and Steeles starting in spring 2021. The outside lanes will become transit-only, increasing car congestion on the remaining two lanes. The Jane Street bus route is erratic and one of the slowest in the city.

Stops are also being consolidated, and the 935 Express bus may see a dramatic drop in the number of stops but higher operating speeds. The TTC is asking for feedback on that plan.

The plan to create bus-only lanes is part of the 5-year RapidTO program, but the implementation was hurried in July, when the first of five bus-only lanes, on Eglinton, was approved by City Council.
