Low-income fare program

City Council is recommending a “Fair Pass Program” that will lower TTC fares for low-income residents and will benefit many Westonians.

Most municipalities around Ontario discount their transit passes for people on Ontario Works or ODSP. Toronto’s City Manager recommends that the city does the same, and lowers fares by 33% for the single ride (to be $2.15) and 21% for the monthly pass (about $112).

This is part of the Toronto’s Poverty Reduction Strategy, which aims to “improve transit services in the inner suburbs”, of which Weston is one.
