MDCA pushes back against policing changes

The Mount Dennis Community Association (who seem superb) are asking an important question: what is happening to the Community Police Liaison Committee at 12 Division?

They say our “CPLC has done a great job connecting the communities in Wards 11 and 12 to policing, and given us a place to discuss our concerns, be they school crossings, cell phone thefts, or gun violence. We live in safer communities due to their efforts.”

Still, the report on upcoming changes to policing in Toronto doesn’t mention CPLCs at all. They’d like to know why, and they’re encouraging residents to ask their representatives “will we locally simply lose services? What will be put in place so Mount Dennis has better, and not just less policing” as the merger with 13 division proceeds?

Indeed, that is a good question.
