No love for SmartTrack in Mount Dennis

Brian Kelcey, a former City Hall insider, says that

If Mayor John Tory quit tomorrow, his political epitaph would read: “Still waiting for the consultant’s report.” He’s waited months for a consultant to confirm what everyone already knows: the impractical, costly Mount Dennis leg of SmartTrack is a gangrenous wound, and it should have been amputated already to save the rest of his SmartTrack plan.

The Mount Dennis leg of SmartTrack was ugly from the beginning because it was poorly thought out and terribly researched. Data has not improved the view. Many homes would be demolished to build it, and a train would run through Eglinton Flats park.
