Frances Nunziata has given a statement about the mayor’s recent admissions:
In recent days we have learned an abundance of information which does not reflect well on the Mayor. To address this, the Mayor has publicly acknowledged that he must make changes in his life; I hope he does this, both for his good and the good of his family.
At the end of the day, actions speak louder than words.
I have personally expressed my concerns to the Mayor, along with the recommendation that he take some time away from the Office to reflect on his actions and seek the support he needs. Ultimately, this decision rests with the Mayor and he has indicated that he will not take a leave. Council does not have the authority to dictate otherwise.
Business at City Hall will continue. There is important work to be done and we cannot afford to let current events distract us from running the City. You can be certain that I will continue to remain committed to my constituents and representing your interests at City Hall.
