PanAm relay gets off on the wrong foot

The PanAm torch relay had a false start today. A couple-dozen kids and their parents were disappointed to learn that the posted arrival time—1:45—was wrong. The PanAm torch didn’t show up at the library.

Instead, we were told that the torch would arrive at 4. The librarians, who were as surprised as we were, put on a game face, broke out the crafts, and amused the kids.

The blame lies elsewhere, but the facts are clear: this was a cock-up.
