Police seeking suspect in cabbie stabbing

Toronto police are looking for a suspect in the stabbing of a cab driver. On Tuesday, March 19, the suspect hailed a cab near Keele and Wilson. He took it to the Jane and MacDonald area,  asked the driver to pull into a laneway, and began stabbing the driver in the stomach.

The driver fled, but was struck by the cab he had been driving because it was still in “Drive”. The suspect demanded the driver’s money before fleeing on foot. The suspect is black, 5’6″, and described as wearing a dark jacket, though the picture shows him wearing a jacket that appears, to me, to be satin and white.

The cabbie was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Also in crime this week, a home on Walwyn Avenue was broken into some time between 10 in the morning and 1 pm. The burglars stole jewellery and flatware.
