It’s been a long while since we’ve had a restaurant report.
New Banadir Restaurant, in the plaza behind Tim Horton’s, was carded for not washing up and not preventing pests.
China China, a perennial laggard, got yellow carded again this summer for not keeping food at a safe temperatures and failing to prevent contamination.
The Weston King Neighbourhood Centre also took a yellow for not ensuring food safety, not keeping food at a safe temperature, and not preventing pests.
And, in what can only be described as a tragedy—foreseeable and yet heart-wrenching—the best (only) Weston-area Indian roti shop was given a yellow card. It was only days after I ate there, again and again, with my best friend, Derek, so perhaps standards slipped under the spike in business.
Roti Time got dinged for not having hot and cold water (huh?!), not having soap (sweet Jesus), and not sanitizing.
