St John’s Anglican Church closes up

St John’s Anglican Church closed on October 4 and has merged with three other west-end Churches.

The plan, explained in June, is to “build a state-of-the-art church on one of the existing properties, to be paid for by the sale of the other three churches.”

The church was built in 1856.

  1. Thank you for the beautiful memories your video brought back of my time in the Junior and Girls Auxiliary and the girls choir with Mr Brum in the 50’s and 60’s. So sad to see its passing. Deb Standing Tysoe.

  2. What a wonderful view of the church and its beauty, so lovingly built and recorded. This is a sad loss, as the building is such a strong witness o Weston’s past, and gives a glimpse into what Weston Road was like before multi storey buildings took it over.
    Thank you.
