STJE is a GO!

After years of construction (and a few delays) St John the Evangelist Catholic school will be open this September at its old location on George Street.

St John was a very crowded school when the school community sought a new building more than five years ago. They had very little green space for students and the maximum number of portables allowed. Sometimes classes were even held in the church basement.

The school was supposed to open in 2016, and in 2018. Delays happened because Metrolinx and the school couldn’t reach agreements. While building, because graves were also discovered on site.

While the the school was being built, the long-suffering students were bussed almost to the Junction and shuffled to Beverly Hills Drive.

  1. And I say..
..that your “right out of the gate” negativity is a drag, man.

    Why go there?
    The paint’s barely dried.

Why not give the kids and their families a “neutral positive” break, for once.

    1. Just ignore the Matt, Anonymous. If you ignore the trolls they’ll get bored and go away.

This really is great news for Weston though. Thanks for keeping us updated on the progress of the construction Dave Bennett. This must be a proud moment for you.

  2. This is great news! Any way we can lockdown on the negative comments for a bit? Take a break, please.

No bus rides to school is a huge and very good thing!

  3. It was a long and worth while journey to get a new school in Weston.
I appreciate everyone’s support over the past ten years.
