November 10th, Somali Youth Policy Conference.
MPP Albanese will be hosting a Somali Youth Policy Conference at LEF on Industry Street from 1pm-5pm. This half day event will be addressing a very crucial issue facing the Somali Community. This past year the Somali community has faced a very difficult situation, one that has forced us to critically look at the situation and problems our youth are facing.

York South-Weston MPP Laura Albanese will be hosting this event to understand how current initiatives can better meet the needs of Somali youth and community. The conference will focus on how best to assist youth in meeting their potential to contribute effectively to the vitality of our city and foster a sense of belonging and citizenship values.

The conference will focus on understanding what has worked well for families, and to draw lessons from that to inform policy decisions be made now. This will begin with a 5 x 5: 5 Presentations of 5 minutes setting the context for discussion, and be followed by breakout sessions on each topic led by facilitators.
