Teen charged in recent shooting out on bail

The teen charged in the recent Weston killing of a 16-year-old boy has been released on $100,000 bail, according to The Star.

The shooting seems to have been an accident, though both the victim and the alleged perpetrator have had troubled years. The victim had gang affiliations, and the killer was out on bail at the time of the shooting.

The victim was killed in an apartment on Weston Road. He was from Etobicoke and a member or affiliate of the Crips gang.

  1. Am I reading this right? The 14-year-old who apparently by accident shot a 16-year-old while he (the shooter) was out on bail is now again out on bail? For $100,000? Is that the cost of a life? The problem is the gun access, the death, the gang suggestion, actually everything … and now he’s out of custody and what happens next?

This is not a reassuring picture.Report
