UP Express has a website, CTC is in trouble

The Clean Train Coalition announced this week that it will appeal a court ruling in favour of Metrolinx, which will force it to pay $30,000 in legal costs. The bill, not surprisingly, is an existential threat to the organization. The Toronto Star writes that “The legal costs might as well have been $1 million for the residents who live along the train tracks where the new Pearson-Union Station train service will run, said the group’s lawyer.”

The group is hoping that they will win on appeal, and that they can have the cost awards overturned.

In other news, Metrolinx has launched a new website for the U.P. Express, which includes a lengthy section describing the vehicles it will use.
