This is the 15th annual Neighbour’s Night Out Barbeque! Come down to Elm Street between King St and Church St. from 5:45 PM for this big community celebration! Frontlines, located at 1844 Weston Road is having a free summer barbeque! Check out the fun activities, grab a free hot dog, burger, or drink, and learn about Frontlines and the great services and resources they offer.

And, if your cardiovascular system can take it, Councillor Nunziata will be hosting a Canada Day party at Lions Park. It’s always… a blast.

I will be hosting my annual Canada Day party on July 1 at Weston Lions Park. This is a huge family-friendly event, with lots of food, fun, and entertainment! Come out any time from 5-10:30 PM and be sure to stick around for the amazing fireworks show at 10 PM!

  1. WCC was a group formed by Mike Sullivan to stave off the UP Express. Mike has won an election,
lost an election and completed as post secondary degree since then. Not sure why this group is still
receiving proceeds from Neighbour’s Night Out – as it no longer exists

  2. The WCC does still exist and we never tried to “stave off” Blue 22, then renamed the UPX – we only strove to make it a better project which we succeeded in accomplishing. And we still monitor the train issues that are ongoing like noise walls, etc. Mike Sullivan is 1 of 12 neighbours who met and formed the original group and was the Chair for a number of years. We currently have 2 Co-Chairs and Mike still monitors outstanding items from Metrolinx. As a private citizen. And since we don’t have electrification yet, the group still exists. And unless there are major issues that need community consultation, we don’t hold regular meetings. But we still exist.

    Hope that answers your question.

  3. I was at the original meeting so don’t tell me what WCC was trying to do.

Every year Neighbours Night Out apparently gives a percentage of proceeds to WCC….let’s be transparent. Where are these funds going and how much has been collected so far? If the WCC is a NFP, then the financials should be posted.

    Enquiring minds want to know.
