2013 URBANARTS CULTURESHOCK FESTIVAL
UrbanArts Community Arts Council is proud to present the 9th annual CultureShock Community Arts Festival. From August 21 – 23, 2013, this 3-day celebration will highlight the Weston-Mount Dennis neighbourhood and Toronto. With a schedule of youth arts programming that focuses on dance, visual arts, and unforgettable music performances, UrbanArts is excited to prove that Toronto is a hotbed of talent.
CultureShock officially begins with an exciting dance workshop on Wednesday August 21st with Toronto based hip-hop and dancehall dancer/choreographer Brandon “Bizzy” Owusu. This energetic workshop will be the first to ever take place in the BRAND NEW UrbanArts dance studio.
The 2013 CultureShock Festival main event will take place Friday August 23rd in Little Avenue Memorial Park. Attendees will enjoy live art installations, face painting, caricatures, henna tattoos, and street performers while listening to some of Toronto’s hottest talent. This year’s festival is headlined by Hip-hop super duo, Perfeck Strangers. Other featured artists sharing their talents include Bootcamp Dance Crew, Bizzy Dancers, Jaek DeLarge, Zino, Enuma, Ali Demour, and MANY MORE!
The fun doesn’t end there, join us Saturday August 24th for an outdoor movie screening at Little Avenue Memorial Park from 8 – 10pm.
