Weston mayoral chain still missing

The Weston mayoral chain is still missing. The Star has a nice, long article on its history.

Featuring a ring of decorative brass maple leaves and crafted nearly 100 years ago, the chain bears the names of every mayor Weston had during its decades as a town, from 1915 until it was amalgamated into the municipality of York in 1967, said Cherri Hurst of the Weston Heritage Conservation District. Hurst said the framed case that held the chain in recent years was centred by a plaque with the inscribed names of Weston’s reeves during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, when the municipality was classified as a village.
