Weston memorabilia being collected by two local groups

Two local groups are collecting memorabilia to document Weston’s history.

The Weston Historical Society has a new branch: the Weston Annex. Martin Proctor is collecting copies of the Weston CI yearbook, The Conning Tower, as well as other documents of local importance. He is converting them to electronic formats, to be put online. You can join him on Facebook.

Sandy Ross, a local Lion, is looking for programs, documents, team photos, and other souvenirs of the Weston Lions Arena, which it turning 65 this year. He has been collecting for several years now and has about 1000 photos in his digital archives.

Any material you submit will be returned if you would like it back, or archived if you prefer. In October, to commemorate the 65th birthday (but not retirement!) of the arena, we will run a nice photo essay on WestonWeb.

If you have any material you would like to contribute, drop me a line or leave a comment, and I’ll put you in touch with Sandy.
