Weston Minor Hockey in the running for $100,000

Kraft Canada is giving $100,000 to a minor hockey association with an inspiring story about how “hockey goes on”. The Weston Minor Hockey League is in the running thanks to Sandy, who sounds like an inspiring guy:

Sandy is living proof that Hockey Goes On. He coached all last year through radiation & treatment for a rare cancer. Following his April surgery, he returned to the rink. He can no longer play hockey himself, but he is gingerly back on skates at his Atom Practices encouraging the kids to do their best.

LInda, our tipster, says:

Sandy is 1 of only 20 Ontario nominees, so the chances of winning are 1 in 20!  These are amazing odds, and we all know that no one is better at beating the odds this past year than our Sandy.
