The police have arrested a woman for a non-fatal stabbing at Weston and Lawrence.

The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Distressingly, CityNews says that the victim and perpetrator were not known to each other. The alleged perpetrator appears to have been arrested almost immediately.

  1. I remember looking at the CityNews story when it came out and wondered where this actually happened. As most of you know, the media will generalize an event location to a nearby main-street intersection so that readers in all areas of Toronto will get a rough sense of which community was impacted. For readers nearby the the suggested intersection this is often proves insufficient as it is not unusual to find the actual location a significant distance from it.

Sometimes one can figure things out by analyzing the background info in an accompanying photograph but I did not recognize anything in the story’s photo of a police cruiser at night. No wonder. It appears to be a stock photo taken in 2017.

    1. The point is Weston rd is dark, scary and not a fun place to be on once night comes.
I was on John St last night around 6:30 pm and the sketchy characters hanging around/hiding within the doorways, walking up and down John St made me wonder what these folks were up too…I tell you they were up to no good…..!!
