Megan DeLaire, who covered our neighbourhood for Toronto.com and their community papers, has been reassigned to cover COVID for their community new sites.

As of today, I no longer report for https://t.co/lisSDxUNZ5 or the @YCCNV. In response to shifts in our media landscape and in general, I have been reassigned by Torstar to report on #COVID19 for all of the company’s community news websites.

DeLaire wrote great stories about air pollution in York South–Weston, the extremely large Greenland Farms development, the local schools, the impact of construction on local business, flooding, climate leadership, Frontlines, tenant organizing, the IB program, and the Kitchen Masters program. She was also quarantined after being exposed to the corona virus.
She wrote with compassion and support for the community, and she always got her facts straight. I’m very sorry to see her leave us.
Megan has done excellent work and will continue to do so, but we are happy and well rewarded by your hard work and diligent, intelligent and always informative articles!
Stuck with you? Hooray!
Thank you so much for your kind words. I’m blown away. I really loved covering your community and learned so much about it from reading Weston Web. I always wished I could have covered more stories, but folks in YSW are so civically engaged it was tricky sometimes to do on my own.
Thank goodness for you guys! You’ve been on top of Weston news since long before me and I’m happy you’re still around to do the heavy lifting.
